This is a transformation on an iconic masterpiece, done in the only way that I dared try: I blew it up and put it back together again. Sorry, Johann.
I say “transformation” rather than “transcription” because I couldn’t find a way to capture this masterpiece on the piano without destroying everything I loved about it-. So I decided to expand it vertically to retrofit a modern piano, with colors and piano textures, attempting to magnify what I love about this music and recompose it into a new little concert piece full of irreverence and sparkly fireworks.
